In my opinion another example of Hysteria. But in many respects a different mode of the disease. Still however without proper Hysteria fits. And appears merely under form of what may I think be called Hysteria Symptoms If in former something analogous to Clavus Hystericus in this have [what] according to description of patient an example of Globus Hystericus. A mark by many considered as an infallible pathognomonic of the disease. This opinion indeed I am not disposed to adopt. Yet will not I dare say be denied by any one that is at least what may be called leading symptom. In present instance symptoms even more distressing than in former. Particularly if take into consideration state of mind which here occurs. Yet grounds in my opinion to look for more favourable conclusion. Especially from considering that disease but of short duration & has hitherto resisted use of [few] remedies Here also with a [illegible] to wind have had recourse to Assafoetida. But found chief expectation at present on mixture of Bark of Valerian. And if this unsuccessful have some thoughts of trying calx of [illegible] But of practice reserve observations till again treat of case in order of list
