    DEP/DUA/1/40/16 (Normalised version)

    David Smith

    (1786-1787)

    No 16. David Smith.

A distressing example of Ischuria or rather perhaps Dysuria.

And probably depends on an affection of Kidney - Ischuria Renalis.

From history may infer that morbid condition of this organ consequence of injury

Hence little reason to expect speedy cure.

For organ very much out of [reach]

May however do something with view at least to alleviation.

And although cannot remove discharge of kidney may yet increase discharge of urine.

With this view recourse to Vinum Nicotiana.

A remedy of which in this complaint for my own part no experience.

But employed as diuretic in other diseases with advantage. Highly celebrated by Dr Fontana [Heron] [illegible] [illegible]
