John Hossack
(1786-1787)
No13. John Hossack at 40.
Most distressing complaint under form of catarrhal affection. But also some symptoms of incipient anasarca. Neither however in such state as to give much alarm. And in hopes that by proper [assistance] may in no long time get better of his affection. Must however be allowed that season of year against him. And might at least expect more expedient cure in warmer weather. With view to promoting discharge by stool & urine have directed Cream of Tartar with Jalap. With these propose to conjoin [vomits] From which hope for alleviation if [not] removal of affection.
