    DEP/DUA/1/38/28 (Normalised version)

    David Shank

    1785

No29. David Shank a young man in 29 year has on former occasions been oftener than once a patient at Dispensary for disease to which now subjected.

This I consider as being a peculiar modification of Chorea

These peculiarities shall afterwards point out when treat of case at length.

May I think hope, that now, as well as formerly, will for present at least, have favourable termination.

But at same time am I own not without apprehension that in end will fall a victim to it.

Ground for apprehension that may gradually degenerate into paralytic state.

And should not I own be surprised if an affection of this kind should [even] attack suddenly to great degree.

Or if from affect of vital organs in some of fits death should [ensue] in manner even more instant.

Hope however that as formerly again be benefited by trial of Cuprum Ammoniala on which have you will observe put him.
