    Ann Brown

    1784

    No19. July 3d 1784

Ann Brown at 19 complains of great sickness at stomach, attended with an inclination to vomit every thing that is taken. She finds herself much weakened & is troubled at times, with heaviness & stupidity. Pulse 76. menses rather scanty. Belly somewhat bound. Appetite very good but she can never digest the food taken as it is in a short time after always thrown up again.

This affection attacked her about a week ago, there were no previous symptoms, but she was seized unexpectedly upon taking a meal with nausea & inclination to vomit which now always returns when she takes any food.

No cause is assigned for her complaints & she has taken no medicines.
