Came under our care for Haemoptysis. When applied for assistance but of few days standing. And although at first to quantity of near half pint yet had upon whole been to no great extent. And without any symptoms that could be considered as alarming. About two years before patient had been subjected to similar affection. Then however affect of accidental [straining] from raising great weight. This, together with state of pulse led me to consider it at present as being more of passive than active kind And accordingly had immediate recourse to Astringent Succus Japonica combined with Cream of Tartar & Gum Arabic. From this for space of week [apparently] some benefit. Encouraged therefore to direct continuation. But have since that seen nothing of him. And hence cannot pretend to say what has been or may be event of [case]
