    Charles Strong

    (1781-1782)

    Charles Strong.

A distinctly marked instance of Insanity appearing under form of Melancholy.

Had from beginning very little hope of being of any service to this patient.

And indeed from state of mind could neither expect regular attendance nor regular use of medicine.

As application made for assistance however thought at least of some trials

And had recourse to Camphor & Calumba in conjunction a medicine which have been [informed] used with advantage in some such [cases] by a practitioner of eminence in England.

Besides this however directed also Soluble Tartar the remedy of Dr [illegible].

    Neither however fair trial.

And patient soon after dismissed with view of going to relative in country
