    DEP/DUA/1/25/26 (Normalised version)

    Andrew Hutton

    (1780-1781)

In opinion which formerly gave of case of Andrew Hutton am now inclined to think that was mistaken

Suspicion then was, that patient laboured under an incipient Phthisis.

And can at least say that have seen many instances of Phthisis which had at length fatal termination where symptoms for long time less alarming.

Notwithstanding these appearances however, from event which has now taken place may I think with confidence pronounce it to have been merely catarrhal.

For in no long time, after case last treated of, was dismissed free from affection.

And that event may I think attribute to measures here employed.

Use viz of issue & of demulcent combined with anodyne
