    Alexander McBain

    (1779-1780)

With Alexander McBain have now tried Peruvian Bark for cure of intermittent in [almost] every way in which [advised] by any practitioner & to great extent.

But in no way have found it capable of removing this affection with present patient

Serves then to show that although very generally successful, & although in one mode of administration may be more successful than in another yet cases which will resist this medicine & that too in every form.

And am now inclined to think, that this patient will be cured only by change of season.
