    Jean Clerk

    (1779-1780)

Of case of Jean Clerk formed very unfavourable opinion.

Considered part of her disease as being a Hysterical affection.

But by much most material complaint as depending on local affection, probably an aneurism of some large vessels.

Took her therefore under care, rather with view of marking progress than with any other intention.

And during course of attendance for several months, have found no reason to alter opinion.

At same time disease has not made any such progress as to be more distinctly marked

And dismissed at her own desire very nearly in same state as when came under care
