    James Brown

    (1777-1778)

Case of James Brown exhibits affection with regard to nature of which great doubts.

Yet circumstances of headache, dilation of pupils & other particulars gave some evidence of idiopathic affection of head.

And presumption even that depended on water.

But whether this conjecture well founded or not, little doubt that by blisters & cathartic affections to which subjected for space of several months were overcome.

And from this termination in case am I own inclined to infer both that some truth in conjecture as to cause, & like wise that same means evacuating water from other places will also produce evacuation from brain, or at least from cavity of Cranium
