    Christian Thomson

    (1777-1778)

In case of Christian Thomson had example of natural cure in affection apparently alarming

Disease exhibited singular example of affection of nervous kind.

And particularly marked by peculiar convulsions.

May however be observed that such affections in general much more alarming than in reality dangerous.

And was not without hopes that might be terminated by artificial cure.

In this however soon interrupted by occurrence of fever.

During course of this, was although not entirely yet in great measure freed from fits.

An example how much may be affected by those changes occurring in system from circumstances, of operation of which are entirely ignorant.

And such examples should lead us not to despair of natural cure even where artificial means found ineffective.
