Our School Lecture series provides encouragement and information for young people interested in a career in medicine. Each of the three lectures focuses on the process of preparing for application to medical school, examining relevant topics and ethical dilemmas of medicine, and highlighting various medical specialties.

In our third and final lecture titled “Ethical Dilemmas in Medicine”, students were invited to sit alongside some of Scotland’s best medical professionals and discuss the role of ethics in medicine. Professor Angela Thomas acted as our guide alongside five exceptional physicians who face difficult ethical questions in their field of medicine.

Students were encouraged (but not required) to come to the event with a question to ask our panel. This panel discussion explored some of the challenging moral and ethical decisions taken by doctors today.
