At the same time are not to consider it as that loathsome & invet disease so comm among ancit nat.

And among them partic among the Jews so much dreaded.

May also however obs. that once very comm & very much dread in this country.

In so much that in neighb. of this city many hospit for recept of those lab. under this compl.

And to these conf. by strictest [illegible ] laws.

But now the disease at least under a highly infect form totally oblit.

Prob. from change of mode of life espec from greater attent to cleanl.

And partic from more comm use, & more freq. changes, both of bed & body linnen.

Still however this affect to some degree app.

And in case of pres patient an evid ex of it extended over almost whole body to consid degree.

Is however an affect which as have now opport of obs. it neither danger. nor infect.

Yet when app. in gener of consid obstin

This in pres case the rather to be dreaded from extent of affect.

And perhaps also from quick progr.

For although only six months from first comm. yet already to be met with in alm every diff part.

But at same time must be allowed that short contin at least somewhat in fav of pat.

And accord to inform given us has not hitherto resisted any power med.

These then may at least be consid as stronger inducem to prop. trials.

And perhaps may even add with more hopes of success.

In case of this [kind] accord to diff morbid condit, diff obj in view.

But in gener necess where affect much extend, to restore due circul & natur state of disch by surface.

And to counteract morbid local state of action in vessels morb. affectd.

Is with first of these intent, that have here had recourse to crude antim taken internally.

And with last that have empl. the Ungt Citrin [inol] as [wee] still it.

That is merc brought to saline state by means of axunge Nitr acid & diff in axunge.

But to render med more gentle as well as for more easy applic here greater prop than in Pharm.
