    With regard to case of this pat not altogeth without doubts.

    May however venture to say that either an obstin catarh or incip phth.

    And must be allowed, that between these, diagnos often extrem diffic.

    For catarh not unfreq attended with alarm app, as emaciat, quickness of pulse, &e.

    And on other hand, Phthis often extremely insid. & has made very consid progr before distinctly marked.

    Of the two however here inclind to suppos of Catarrh.

    To this suppos led from origin of disease, a fever viz conseq of accid abort.

    May also draw same conclus from state of pulse & tongue, & regular of menstr. evac.

    Besides age of patient more in fav. of Catarrh than Phthis.

    For has at least past that period at which Phthis affect most freq.

    Hence upon whole disposed to hope for fav termin.

    Although must be confessd that season of year, against speedy termin.

    Here will obs, have directed for patient comp. powder of G. Myrrh.

    Consist of equal parts of G. Myrrh & Crem Tart.

    An artic chiefly empl. indeed [agains] Phthis.

    But also often adv used in [Catarrh]

    Have the rather empl it, as [not] free from doubt.

    But of use, shall afterw speak at more length, when come to treat of case, in order of list.
