When formerly spoke of case of this patient obs. obs. that had not found decided opin with resp. to it. And as contin only but short time under care was in same [situa] when left us For during course of attend nothing occurred tend either to corrob or conf. suppos. formely thrown out. Then obs. that prin part of comp. evid Dyspept. But that presumpt. these were merely sympt. either of Hyster or of Ammenorrh. And of two suppos was rather inclind to last. On this ground formerly suggested intent of empl with this pat. electri. Which although by no means suited to every inst of [Amen]. is yet upon whole one of most powerf. emmen with which am acq. But prior to empl of this thought it necess to ascert. one partic at least with some degree of prob. Whether viz patient was pregn or not. For no doubt that with those desir of procur abort. pregn though exist often denied. And at same time pretend that obstr. of menst from other causes. With a pregn woman howevr, elect shocks, always to be avoid. Espe when empl. in manner comm directed for restor of mens. That is through region of uterus. For by mere concuss indep of other circum foetus may be destr or detached. Hence then in every susp. case [caut] necess in exhib. Here indeed may be thought that from length of time pregn would have been discov by bulk. For obstr. said to be of six month stand. And by that time in gener. consid encr of size. But in this respect, well known that in diff women, very consid diver of shape. And some with whom even at later periods hardly discov. But besides this exposed to still anoth diff in judging for that circum. For to take off susp of pregn. often pret. that obst. of much older date than really is Hence then at least requis that other partic should be taken in conj with this Accord before direct electr. here wishd at least to have repeated opp. of seeing pat. And in mean time was intent to employ endeav. merely in obv sympt. With this view first prescr. for our patient the Pil. Foetid cum Aloe. A formula as have already oftener than once obs. cons. of equal parts of Aloes, Assaf. & Soap. A combin often useful to pat in diff circum. But espec. where much uneasiness from flatul. comb. with bound state of belly. In case of pres pat. latter of these circum indeed did not take place. For belly we were informd regul. But no doubt that many of sympt partic disten. swelling & pain effect of latter. And from this circum hoped that might afford her some relief. Mitig however at first at least not so consid as expected. For after contin for week, found that little other influ than that of mov. belly. This led me to conj with these the use of a comb of Val & Zinc. An artic from which as allaying tend to inord action have often I think seen good effects. With our patient however [were] alledged to excite sickness at stom. But as without vomiting did not think it suff reason for omitting use. Since directed contin howevr [have] seen nothing farther of this pat. And as left us nearly in same state of uncert with regard to disease as when came under care, any farther conj with regard to it unncess.
