    Barbara Dun

    (1788-1789)

    No21. Barbara Dun at 36.

In case of this patient a distinct markd inst of fever of interm kind.

And while that of consid contin. has during that period assumd diff time form, Quotid, Tert & Quart. again.

At same time without any reason for believing [essent] change in nature.

And this with me suff. argum. why all modif of interm should be consid as constit only one genus of disease.

In case of this patient, contin which disease has had, as well as affect of syst. prod. evid proof of [illegible].

At the same time without any sympt indic immed danger.

And indeed, in this part of country at least interm cannot be consid as a very fatal obstin disease.

In pres inst obstin may perhaps in part at least have proceeded from no prop. remed being empl. in cure.

For excepting a vomit on [attack] are told that had empl. no other pract.

And although natur cures, partic when aided by change of situat & season not unfreq. occurr, yet artif much more comm.

And some remed, such for ex as Peruv Bark, by which this, here at least very readily effected.

With this patient howev have made trial of diff. & what if effect a much cheaper med.

viz Miner solut of Dr Fowler, a solut of Arsenic in water by means of drop. veget alk. Supp analog to tasteless ague drops

But observ on this referr to future occasion.
