On case of this patient little to add to obs. formerly offerd with respect to it. When came under our care had all sympt of Vener Gonnorh. And had reason to believe that contag of that affect. commun to her from her moth. Hence then notwith tender age consid her as subj to gonnorh. At same time then remarkd, that could not consider case as free from all doubt. During contin under our care no circum occurd either to confirm or to alter formr opin with respect to it. Unless perhaps can be consid as some confirm, that had ordin course common with Gonnorh. And that in usual way without much aid of med termin in recov. For here I own whethr disease Gonn or not look upon recov as much more conseq of operat of syst. itself, than of any pract which we empl. But at same time hold Gonnor. to be one of those diseases, which, as well as catarrh or other muc disch. has natur termin in recov. Have however little doubt that whatev might be nature of disease, pract here empl. had at least effect of forward recov. And indeed were suited to comb it as consist, in inflam with encr. muc disch whether vener or not. In Gonnorh although use of strong purgat at one time recomm. now entirely deserted, yet always advant that belly should be kept gently open. Hence though rather loose, thought it prop. still to support disch. And with this intent had recourse to Magnes. one of most gentle & at same time most useful purgat with inf. While however this taken internally some extern applic seemd also prop. for excor & inflam parts. And with this intent. had recourse to saturn ointm one of most cooling & gentle applic with which am acq. While at the same time for washing all affected parts within reach, had recourse to saturn solut. In effects of these med were not disap. For while contin to have two or three loose stools daily, in short time after topic applic begun both inflam & running dimin. While however undr this course an erupt of red pustules app on diff parts But partic on face & head. These however I consid as nothing more than those transit erupt to which inf often subj. And to which I own know no prop name which can be affixed. Did not consid this as any ground for altering pract. imag that would soon of itself cease. And this accord proved to be the case. Disch also was now very much dimin. And in few weeks longer had altog. ceased. In this situat farthr attend seemd altogeth unnecess. And accord dismissd. May however concl. with obs. that consid her as cured by operat on syst not be med empl. For topic applic, in all probab, no other effect than that of mitig sympt. And gentle cathart by the mouth prob. merely influ as prev encr. of them But pres & simil cases serve to shew that termin as soon accompl, by doing little as by empl of mercur. & othr most powerful remedy
