    No11th Novr 11th. 1788

    Janet Calder at 35, is affected with great diminution of vision in both eyes. Upon examination the cornea & aqueous humour appear to be natural. But the pupils are much dilated & do not contract on exposure to light. She complains also of constant pain in the temples shooting to the crown of the head & she is affected with much depression of spirits & general debility with loss of appetite.

    Pulse regular, Belly costive

    Catamenia regular as to the period of accession, but flow in small quantity, Tongue dry & clean & she has sometimes a sense of coldness in her head, particularly during the night.

    These complaints first came on about fifteen months ago & she attributes them to plunging herself suddenly into cold water when she was heated.

    Has been regularly electrified for eight days past, but there is no change on her vision, in other respects she is in good health.

    Has been regularly electrified since the last report. But the affection of vision continues as before.

    Vision much as before, & she has not used the electricity during the course of the week, as she has been confined to the house with sickness at stomach & pains through her body. Pills sit easily
