    No3. Octr. 28th 1788

    Mary Millegin at 34, during the intervals between the menstrual flux has a constant discharge from the vagina of a white colourd serous fluid, attended with much pain in the back shooting down to the thighs. Her catamenia are regular as to the time of the accession but flow in an unusual quantity with much pain, & the discharge often continues for ten or twelve days. She complains also of nausea & headach at times. Pulse about 80 & feeble. Belly regular, appetite good.

    These complaints first occurred about nine months ago after an abortion. She has used some port wine but without deriving any benefit from it.

    Has continued the bark with the mixture

    The powders sit easily on her stomach, & the discharge was for some time a little diminishd but last night the menstrual evacuation began. Cont. Cortex. &

    Ag. Cassiae Syr Simp. Ag. Font. aa ℥ii cap. ℥p ter de die cum sing dos Cort. Peruv.

    Has continued the bark with the mixture, without any inconvenience, But the menstrual discharge is still very profuse, although attended with rather less pain than formerly.
