    Isabel Angus

    (1787-1788)

    Isabel Angus. at 60. No21

Of the case of this patient is almost unnecss. now to say any thing.

For since began pract have never seen any thing more of her at this place.

And need hardly repeat, that exhib a distin markd inst of An.

And that too by no means in fav circum

For with a female at 60th year of age even allowing that remov could have been effected still reason to look for return.

Removal however of effected [illegible] was first obj in case.

And in interest of our patient had no doubt that this to be attempt by natur [outlet]

Partic by urine from which less to be dreaded in way of debilit [illegible] than by equal disch from any other [illegible].

Was therefore as [a] diuret that had here recourse to Crem of Tart.

An artic which while powerful in this way has often also consid eff as a laxat.

An affect which if induced to inod degree might here also be of serv.

But from quant. directd for our patient unless with very irrit state of bowels could hardly be exp.

And even with that effect at first had reason to think that would soon cease.

Was then chiefly as a diuret that here directed it.

But with intent of prod a disch in this way thought it necess. also to do something [fathr].

Accord here also as in anoth case of which have already treated had recourse to Digital.

An artic which although sometime viol & precar in operat yet unques very powerful

Here directed it as in gener. do at comm to extent only of gr i at bed time

And from this quant. under form of pills, though sometimes prod of very great adv. little, as far as I can judge from exper, to be dreaded.

What however effect in pres case as patient never returnd have not been able to learn.
