    No17. Decr 2d 1786.

Agnes Mitchell at 23 with black hair & of a healthy appearance, complains of severe headach, & of violent pain in her back & breast, with a sense of fullness in her stomach & of twisting & constriction of her bowels at times. She is also affected with slight cough & she complains of great prostration of strength. Pulse about 90 & small. Belly regular. Menses have been wanting for these six months past. Appetite impaird. Sleeps ill.

The above symptoms hence continued encreasing for these six months past & she ascribes them to the absence of the menstrual discharge, as she always enjoyd good health before.
