    In case of this patient an affec in some degree of compl. nature

    But at same time affect cheifly distress to her & what chiefly led to apply for our assist very viol ten

    And this as I am disp to conj. the conseq of preceding obstin const.

    By this means mucus cover [alread] leaving extrem of intest in bare & highly [sensit] state.

    At same time not improb that in some degree also conn with anoth circum.

    Excess. menst disch viz to which had been subj.

    But whatever cause this most distress part of compl. has already altog cease

    And that as almost immed conseq of an opiate.

    Cannot howev from this [cons] disease as compl. overcome.

    And improp. to pron radic cure, till at least see conseq of next menst. disch.

    While at same time care to be taken to prev recur by keeping belly gently open

    If however from persist in this manner no return at next [menst] period, shall reckon farther attend unnecess.

    [Unless] perhaps direct few doses of Peruv. Bark with view to recov of Strength.
