    Bell Rattray

    (1785)

    Bell Rathay.

This patient can hardly be consid as having been ever subj of [pract] here.

For soon after admiss on list, gave up attend.

Thus have never had opport of knowing effects, even of first prescrip.

Hence then unnecess to offer alm any observ. with respect to case.

May only remark, that could not form any decided opin respect affect.

But was upon whole disposed to consider her case, as being a Rheum affect.

And of this kind supposed both affect of head & teeth, also of infer extrem to be.

With regard to progn was in hopes that might soon be brought to a fav conclus.

For although had already subs. for some months yet did not seem to be attended with any marks of invet.

Had not, as far as could learn, resisted the influ of any powerful remed.

And on idea of its being of the Rheum kind, had even reason to hope, that occurr of mild weather, would operate as powerful means of cure.

Here was intent, to have tried effect of a pract, which have had formerly occas to ment.

The conjunct viz of Calom, with opium.

This you will find of late highly extolld by Dr Ham, of Lyme Regis in a paper pub in Med. Comm

And although for my own part [can] say that have yet any exper of it still from accurr & judgm of auth inclind to think fav.

And partic in my opin promises advant in Rheum cases.

For in more viol inflam affect in which Dr H. recomm it, as in Pleur. Perineum, &e no time for operat.

What however will be effects, to be determ by concurr testim of diff obs.

And what have been effects in this case, as already remarkd have had no opport of learning.

Hence then any farther suggest respect plan of cure or any other remarks concer. case altog. unnecss.
