    No27 1 Janr 1785

    Janet Walker at 36 complains of severe cough & violent pain in her right side which affects her respiration considerably. These complaints are aggravated in the night. Towards morning she sweats very much & in the afternoon is very hot & feverish.

    Pulse 112 Appetite impaird Belly regular. Urine in smaller quantity than usual & she cannot retain it so long as formerly. Menses regular.

    The cough & pain of her side are of twelve month standing & five weeks after the commencement of these complaints she was delivered of a dead child.

    She can assign no cause for her disease.

    She has taken lime water Castile soap, & the Peruvian Bark of her own accord. but without either encreasing or alleviating her complaints.
