    No25. 24th Decr. 1784.

    Janet Blair at 16 is affected with an eruption which principally appears on her legs arms, under the chin & on her face. This eruption appears in most places in distinct blotches about the size of a shilling. It is of a white colour & always dry. It appears in the winter only & is a little painful as she says in cold weather & she feels it itching when she sits near the fire

    Pulse natural. Belly & Catamenia regular. This eruption first appeard about an year & a half ago. Before this period she was troubled with a constant vomiting of all she eat, whether fluid or solid. Ever since the appearance of the eruption she has been quite free from this complaint.

    She can assign no cause for her disease unless it was brought on by cold.

    Janr 1. Had some sickness from the first doses of the powder. But she has since taken it without any inconvenience. She has rubd the ointment on the parts most affected & the eruption is considerably diminishd.

    8th Has still some sickness from the powders but without any vomiting. She has continued the application of the ointment & the eruption is much diminishd.
