    No22. Decr 11th 1784

    Wm Torrence at 22 complains of much uneasiness from wind in the stomach & intestines, which at times is accompanied with borborygmi. He has also been at different times affected particularly when in bed with fits during which he remains insensible for a considerable length of time. But this fit is not attended with any convulsive agitation or foaming at the mouth. Belly natural appetite good

    He was first attackd with these fits about three years ago, he ascribes them to a fright & anxiety on account of his mother, soon after his recovery from a fever.

    He has used no medicines.

    Cap. Pil. Foetid. cum Aloe gr V om. m. & vesp.

    19. Has had no fits since the last report & is less affected with the wind. But the pills purge him.
