Robt Drysdale at 5. The abdomen is considerably & equally distended, the integuments retain their natural appearance, but a fluctuation can be easily perceivd. Pulse quick & frequent. Appetite till within this last week has been voracious, but he has now almost lost it. Belly rather loose. He frequently discharges wind by the mouth & anus. This last week he has passd two lumbrici. His legs never swell. About two months since the swelling was first perceivd & has been encreasing ever since. His health has been perfectly good untill the appearance of the present affection excepting about Novr last when he was affected with an inflammation of the throat. He has taken various laxatives at different times as Senna, Rhubarb &e. His mother knows no cause for his disease Rx Pulv. Crem. Tart ℥i - Cort Cassia ℥i Jallap gr XV Syr. Simp. g. s. f. Elect [cassia] cap coch parv om m & vesp. 24. Thepowders haveElectuary produced frequent watery stools & his urine is tolerably free though turbid & of a whitish cast. His mother thinks that he is rather easier but the swelling of his belly continues nearly as before. Cont. Elect. u. a. & Rx. Infus. Amar. ℥IV Tinct. Aromat. ℥iiMcap coch bis indies 31. Has still several watery stools from the Electuary every day.
