    No15 Decr. 5th 1783

    Robt Mitchell at 64 complains of a troublesome cough which is particularly severe & frequent in the night. He does not find much difficulty in expectoration which is in considerable quantity. When the cough is most violent, the soreness of his breast becomes more intolerable at other times it is triffling. His complaint is of three months continuance & since its commencement, he has applied at two different times to the Dispensary. The first time a vomit was prescribd & some pills which eased the symptoms very considerably but these growing worse he returnd again about fourteen days ago & from similar treatment finds himself much relievd.

    In other respects he is perfectly well

    6th Cap. Pulv. Ipecac Ji pro. Em. nec non sumat Pil [Sallit] grV om. m. & vesp.

    13. The vomit operated well & he has taken the pills as directed. The cough has been much alleviated Belly & Urine natural.

    20. His cough has been rather more troublsome since the last report. But it gives him less disturbance during the night.
