    No 6th Octr 30 1783

    Robt Yeats at 63. Has a greater inclination than usual to pass water. He passes it very freely, but it is of a red colour, & he sometimes observes films of blood floating in it.

    He complains of pains especially in the right haunch, striking towards the Pelvis & Os sacrum. These are most intense when he is warm in bed.

    Pulse 88 of good strength. Tongue white, is thirsty, Appetite pretty good, Belly in general bound, Sleep well. This complaint commenced four weeks ago, but he has not passed so much blood for this last forthnight passed.

    The pains in his haunches are as violent as ever. He attributes his disease to severe straining at his business. He has been a patient in the Dispensary for a forthnight, during which time he has taken every day two tea spoonfuls of the Crystals of Tartar.

    Novr 8th The powders sat easily on his stomach & have had some effect in opening his belly. But the affection of his urine continues much as before. And he has been distressd with severe pain in his back.

    15th

    Has some uneasiness at stomach from the Uva Ursi & although he has taken the Cream of Tartar regularly, yet he has no stool oftener than once in three days. He still continues to discharge some blood with his urine, & is very much distressd with severe pains in his back which prevent him from sleeping during the night.
