    Isabel Wood

    (1782-1783)

Have now consid at some length cases of upwards of 30 of patiens first in list.

Sep however now draws to a period could therfore treat only of a few cases more in same mann

In place therefore of minute consid shall employ pres lect. with which mean to concl in giving short view of the other pat in list already dismissd & of whom have yet said nothing

Of these next in order Isab. Wood.

In hist of this patients case many sympt [illegible].

Had little doubt however in consid all of them as belonging to one affec hyster.

Among these indeed nothing that could be consid as prop hystr fits.

But all of them what might be held as hyster sympt.

Chief immed distress. was what app. arose from wind.

This however so connectd with flying pains, palpit cordis, & vertigo, that little doubt of being much connected with debilit & irrit state

While therefore with view to flatul had recourse to foetid pill, as a [mean] of counteract irritab, employd Per. Bark

Under these med, contin for near space of three months

And although recov not [uniform] yet evid benef.

In so much that at least had it in power to dismiss her, almost entirely free from affect.

Hardly however to be expected that recov. [perman]

And unless from some remark change in constit liab. to recur of sympt through [rem] of [life]
