She has a constant burning heat at the stomach, is sometimes thirsty & affected with great depression of spirits. She has been troubled with frequent hysteric fits attended with some delirium but of short duration only. She complains of great palpitation of the heart.

About 18 months ago she had the first appearance of the Catamenia which for four periods recurrd regularly. Since that they have totally ceased & to this she attributes all her complaints. She knows no cause for the obstruction of the menses.

She was admitted Sepr 12 & has used several medicines without any benefite, particularly the filings of steel with Valerian. She had for a week or more electric sparks taken every day from the region of the uterus, which faild in restoring the menstrual discharge & were omitted as she found herself constantly weaker after coming from the wheel & had frequently a tendency to deliquium animi. Her costiveness has been removed by various medicines, & she has lately every morning been affectd with haemoptysis but this symptom is now gone off.
