Complains of sickness at stomach great debility & is sensible of a ball rising from her breast up to the Pharynx. & there producing a sense of strangulation. She complains also of swelling at her stomach, pains in her abdomen & in the small of her back. She describes the symptoms very indefinitely & has great lowness of spirits Pulse near 100. She sighs frequently, appetite gone, excepting in the morning. Tongue white Respiration easy unless when she is oppressd by the Globus Hystericus. Belly very bound unless when she takes pills which she had from the Infirmary.

She was delivered of a child about five months ago & since that time has been irregular in her menstruation. Has taken Penny Royal as an Emmenagogue & she thinks successfully. Since her delivery she has had frequent faintings but no so much since she weaned her child which is about seven weeks ago. Has also taken the Peruvian Bark but only a quarter of an ounce in three days & without relief. Has lost her husband & is left with two small children & attributes her complaints to cold & grief.
