    Duncan Kennedy at 2½

    May 18th. 1782 has a sore on the right side of his neck which seems to be scrophulous, also a swelling & some soreness on his right leg. Appetite good, Belly costive, unless when he takes physick. The complaints of his neck began about a year ago, by a small swelling which was opened by a lancet in the Infirmary; after which it heald. But it has returnd within these three months. The swelling of his leg is of three two months standing. His mother attributes his complaints to a fall which he had above a year ago & says that none of his family have had similar complaints. He had opening physick on Sunday last which did no operate well.

    24 Sores apparently better since he began his medicines. But his leg is much swelld from an accidental hurt. Cont. Pulv. Cicut. u. a. & Ol. Camph.
