Case not altog. without ambig. And cert does not corresp to definit of Rheum as given by nosol. Seat of pain such as occur in much more alarm affect. viz [illegible] While at same time also as in that compl. affect of breath. Here however suspic of such affect entirely removed [from] abs. of fev. While pain to touch & other circum led me to concl. that affect totally exter to bones of chest. And had little doubt in consid it to be a Rheum affect From this pain of Respir&all other sympt readily expl. On this idea treatm entirely proceeded. And was here intent to make trial of the Rhodod. an artic of which gave acct at last lect in more early stage of disease than had before empl. it. But from affect of breathing thought it necess also to [direct] [applc] of blister. To operat of this may I think ascribe relief of pain ofbreastback & free respirat & expect which afterw [occurrd]. Still however pain cont to consid degree. And while Rhodod at first empl no inconv. led to contin. Only obv. operat that of slight sickness & encreased heat. And former of these after a little habit to use left him. Under empl. all pains very soon entirely left him. Here will not deny that such termin may have occurd withou use of any med. But think it more prob. that may attrib it to the Rhodod. And for my own part am disp to rank this among other cases which tend to give me good opin of that med. In concl. case may obs. that form Disp patien. Want of power of [retens] of Urine partic in bed. Had lab. under it for many years & had tried many med by advice of diff pract. to no purpose. Was howevr then complete cured by [Electoris]. On return at pres. happy to learn that though some years now elapsed contin entirely free from [return] of that affect
