Here cannot form very posit judgm of disease to which patient subjected. For since became our patient from diff accid has never been able to visit us at this place. Have had no opport then of exam it. Descript as introd into register then cheifly taken from acct of others. And from descript of any cutan erup imposs to convey so distinct idea as from having opport of exam at diff. time. In judging however from descript as well as from feelings alledged to occurr was inclind to consider it as an affect very common among lower class of peop. where want of cleanlinss viz Psora or Itch. Must however be allowed that one partic in descript, which may seem object or singul. That is black spot appearing at apex. But if this diff from Psora is also so from every other cutan erupt. nearly answer to descript here given. And probab. more artif induced than natur progr of tumour. Are told that vesic of watery nature & at same time extrem itchy. May concl. therfore that will be broken by scratching. And that thus black appear assumed. In other respects both descript & feeling exactly that of Psora. While suspic corrob. by sever other of same family being also affected. Concl. disease of this nature was in hopes that in no long [tim] would be brought to fav termin Suppos it Psora indeed was undoubtedly to be consid as a very obstin inst. Pustules both extremely numer & extended over whole body. Besides this had already contin for space of two months Hence then whatever theory might be adopt. as to nature of affect was much more [rivitted] than comm the [case] Still however look upon it as a [dis] which posses artif means of counter. even in worst stages. And hoped therfore that meas might be empl. to which would soon yeild. Consider it as very prop inst for trial of effic of Pruss cure for Psora. viz the Vitriol acid taken intern. Of this remedy at begining of our course had already occas to make some remarks. Here pres. it in formul. in which commonly empl it that viz of ℥i of acid to ℥i of [menst]. Of this ℥i for dose taken still farther diluted in glass of water. This very nearly at least method in which used by Dr [Cothen] the physic who first introd it. Was wish therefore without other meas to have given it here full trial. And if had succeeded should have been disp to consider it as equal to cure of any inst of Psora. Was taken by patient for space of week. During that time had no obv oper. While at same time erupt very much augm. From this circum could not concl. either that was the cause of erupt or that unequal to cure. But as had made no progr informerlatter & was suspected of former [thought] it improp to persist in employm Especially as reason to imagine that although ordered would not in these circum have been taken. From this then led to anoth pract from which hoped more imm effect at least as counteract. itchy sensatn. vizr of solut of Sach Saturn. This empl. as substit, or rather as better form of exhib lead in [active] state than Ag. Veget. Min of Goul. An artic of late highly celeb in cure of Psora as well as of various other affect. And imagind that if found to succeed in pres case would estab effic A circum at least desir as enab. us to cure Psora without disagreeab smell of Sulphur. While thus however employd an extern applic reckond it at same time necess to counteract bad effects, which might result from change of determ And with this view directed [salts] for opening the belly. On this course patient still contin. And appear at least with some advant For now both itching & erupt consid dim. Am in hopes therefore that by contin cure may be affected. But if in this disapp. shall have recourse to Sulphur both extern & internaly From which notwith failure of other meas still look for success.
