    No27. January 20th. 1790.

    Susan Gowans at 12, has on the skin of her legs & arms a dry scabby eruption of a whitish colour. Scales often fall off in considerable numbers from different parts of it, & the skin below has then a red & raw appearance. But in a few days the scales are again renewed with the same appearance as before. Some spots of a similar nature have of late appeared on her face & on the trunk of her body.

    Belly bound, Appetite & strength somewhat impaired, other functions in a natural state

    The eruption has been gradually extending for two years past. It first appeared in the form of a small spot on each of the arms. She has used no remedies. Hab. Ungt. Saturn ℥ii illin. p. aff.

    The ointment has produced no change on the state of the eruption

    Has taken her medicines regularly without any uneasiness. Eruption much as before

    Has sometimes had vomiting after her mixture. The eruption is somewhat mended.
