Grizell Gall
(1789)
Two patients next in order of list, Grizell Gall & Elizabeth Gall, have given no attendance here since cases introduced into register1.
Have now nothing therefore to add to observations formerly afforded with respect to them. May only [briefly] observe that considered one as example of Phthisis. And begun treatment with Gum Myrrh under form of [complex] powder. The other though doubtful also I considered as merely an example of Catarrh. And directed an emetic & issue What however has been effect of these practices have not [learned.] Nor have I since heard anything respecting progress of case. But this perhaps less to be [regretted] as similar instance, in which opportunity for trial of some practices are by no means rare occurrences. Should next therefore proceed to consideration of 10th Case that of Agnes Henderson. This however must beg leave to delay entering upon till next lecture.
Explanatory notes:1) References are made throughout the case notes to a dispensary patient register. However, no evidence has been found that this register survives.
