William Watt at 23 is frequently attacked during the day with fits in which he falls down senseless, is much convulsed, & foams at the mouth These paroxysms continue generally for about half an hour. He has no warning of their approach, nor is he sensible of what passes in this state. They leave him much debilitated but he says without any degree of fatuity. He is otherwise in good health. These fits came on about two years ago without any obvious cause but they are now more frequent than usual. He has used no remedies Cap. Pil. e. Cupro. I. om m & vesp 21 Has some gripes from the morning dose of the pills. But he has had no fit for a fortnight past. Cont. Pil e Cupro. sed cap. Pil. ii om. n. & pil. i. om. m. 28 Had a fit on the morning of Thursday last which attacked him while asleep but it was slight & followed by little uneasiness. Has no sickness from the pills. Cont. Pil sed cap. Pil iii om. n. & Pil ii. om m. April 4th Has no uneasiness from the pills & no return of fit. Cont. Pil. u. a. 11th. Has no sickness or vomiting from his pills, but is at times affected with gripes in his belly; & has in general two or three loose stools every day which was not the case before he began the pills. Continues free from any return of fit. Cont. Med. u. a. Remitted to the ordinary list.
