    James Shulbread

    1789

    No31 February 10th 1789.

James Shulbread at 59 complains of great pain in making water particularly about the glans penis. His urine is passed with difficulty & does not run in a full stream & he finds relief in the discharge from change of posture. The urine lately discharged is of a mucous appearance but he says that it is sometimes of a deep red colour. He has also some slight pain about the region of the loins. Belly very costive. Pulse 80 & strong. Appetite not impaired.

These complaints for which he can assign no cause are of three weeks standing. He has used no remedies.
