George Sim at 27, complains at present of much debility in the extremities of the left side; the power of voluntary motion in them, being also somewhat diminished. He has a constant pain in the ankle & knee of the left side, but those parts appear in a natural state. The arm & leg, of that side, are somewhat emaciated, & feel colder than the other. The pulse can be distinctly felt, but is not so strong as on the right side & he possess the sense of feeling perfectly in both arm & leg. His voice appears to be much impaired, skin dry, belly open. Pulse 70. These complaints first came on about two years & a half ago. But at that time he was totally deprived of speech, & of the use of the left side, for some months. He attributes his disease to sleeping at night exposed to the cold air. He has used no remedies of late Rx. Ol. Camph ℥ ii Spt. [Corm]. Cerv ʒiiM. illin. paux. p. app. affectio. 31. Symptoms much as before. Cont Lin & cap. om. m. & vesp. Pil. e. Camph gr X February 7th. The pain of this knee is somewhat diminished. But in other respects the affection of his left side continues nearly as before Cont. Linim & Pil. u. a. 14. The pain of his knee, continues somewhat relieved & he thinks, he can walk a little better on level ground. Cont. Med. u. a. 21. Symptoms much as before. But he thinks that his pains are less fixed. Cont. Med. u. a. 28 Has had no uneasiness from his medicines, but his symptoms continue nearly as before. Pulse Appetite & Belly natural. Cont Med & Elic ind Saint. Elect e lat affecto March 7th Has been regularly electrified & thinks the strength of his effected leg considerably increased Cont. Med. u. a. 14 Has had more pain in the knee during the late severe weather, but he thinks the strength of the limb increased, & he walks with more facility than before. Cont. Med. u. a. 21 Has had more pain in his knee during the frosty weather. But in other respects he continues much as before Cont. Med. u. a. 28. Still complains of much pain & weakness of his knee, but he thinks that he can move it with more facility than before. Cont. Med. u. a.
