    Isabel Middleton

    1788

    No22. December 30th. 1788.

Isabel Middleton at 39, complains of frequent cough, pain of head & breast, with general debility, much thirst, expectoration copious, belly costive. pulse rather feeble. Her menses have not appeared these three months. She sleeps ill in the night as at that time her cough becomes most troublesome. Her present complaints are of three weeks standing. But she says, that a short time before their commencement, she had some symptoms of intermittent fever & since that she has never been in good health. She knows no cause to which she can attribute her present symptoms & has used no medicines.
