John Duncan
1788
No20th December 16th. 1788
John Duncan at 20, has his legs arms & face almost covered with a dry itchy & scaly eruption. When the dried scurf collected upon these parts, which is of a whitish colour, falls off from any of them, a thin ichorous matter is poured out, from the surface of the skin, which quickly forms new squamulae. Belly costive, pulse & appetite natural & in other respects he is in good health. This eruption first appeared about a year ago, in the form of small distinct itchy pimples. These spreading have at last by degrees assumed their present form. He knows no cause to which he can attribute his present symptoms. He has taken some neutral salts but without relief. Rx. Pulv.
