Jean Robertson at 36, complains of an acute & constant fixed pain at the cartilage ensiformis which often extends from thence to her left side. She is also affected with troublesome cough attended with expectoration of viscid mucus, & with considerable dyspnoea which is always aggravated during the night. She complains also of a severe pain in the forepart of her head, accompanied with great vertigo & sometimes followed by Syncope. She is affected also with distension of her stomach attended with cardialgia, nausea & vomiting. She observes that the affection of her stomach is much alleviated by the discharge of flatus. Pulse about 96 & strong, Belly regular, appetite impaired, much thirst, sleeps ill, & her menstrual discharge returns at shorter intervals & to a greater extent than natural. These symptoms attacked her about six weeks ago & she can assign no cause for their occurrence Cap. Pulv. Ipecac ℈i. pro Emet nec non Rx. Tinct. Aromat. Tinct. Amar. aa ℥ iii Vin.
