    January 28. 1785

    Since last lecture 3 new patients added

    No28. Mary Beverly a girl in 14th year, subjected to complaint with respect to which in many respects considerable difficulty.

    Appears indeed chiefly under form of stomach ailment.

    But some circumstances from which may in this case be led to suspect local disease either of stomach or liver.

    Of these shall afterwards state conjectures at more length.

    But besides these subjected also to variety of other symptoms.

    Not only severe headache & distressing cough, but also considerable Dysuria.

    While at same time state of Catamenia also in what may be called unnatural condition.

    Whether all these symptoms connected or not dare hardly venture to conject.

    And indeed before can form even probable idea of this disease must see more of it.

    In mean while measures employed will probably be merely intended for obviating symptoms.

    With this view that have already employed emetic & stomachic medicine.

    And according to affect of these or according to future situation of patient must be directed in measures [afterwards] employed.
