Elizabeth Ross. at 17 is troubled with a severe cough & pain of her breast which are attended with dyspnoea & difficult expectoration She complains also of a fixed pain, in the fore part of her head which is accompanied with vertigo & nausea. The matter expectorated is of a thick consistence, & yellowing colour but no blood has ever been observed, to be mixed with it. The pain of her breast, is fixed under the middle of the sternum Appetite not good. Belly regular, menses have not appeared for these nine months past. Pulse 120 Most of the above symptoms commenced about the end of summer nearly at the same time, with the stoppage of the menses. To the menstrual obstruction she attributes her other complaints but she knows no particular cause by which it can be supposed to have been induced. She has used no medicines. Cap. bis in septimano. Pulv. Ipecac Ji pro Emet. nec non Rx. Pulv. Rad. Rub. Tinct. Crem Tart aa ℥ pMcap coch parv. ter de die 2. The vomit operated well & she has taken the powder as directed but is still affected with some cough & there is no appearance of the menses. Repet Emet & cont. Pulv. Rad. Rub. u. a. 16 Is still much affected with cough & dyspnoea & complains of severe pain of her back. Interm. Med & ap. vesic inter scap.
