Hugh McGregor at 40. is troubled with pain at the pit of his stomach, which increases in violence, till it excites vomiting by which a quantity of water is thrown up. After the action of vomiting has subsided the pain is relieved for some time, but he feels himself much debilitated. Belly bound, tongue rather white but he complains much of thirst. He has been subjected to this affection for three years, but it has never been so severe as at present. No cause is assigned for this complaint. He has taken some Peruvian Bark & a few pills but without any benefit. Rx. Elix ex Aloe & Rheo ℥ii Ag. Menth. pip. ℥IVMcap. ℥p. ter de die. 12. Was considerably easier while he used his mixture. But he has taken none of it for these two days past, since which his affection is again aggravated. Cont. Mist. u. a. 19. Has had almost none of the vomiting since the last report & the pain of his stomach, is much easier. Cont. Mist. u. a. 26. Stomach complaints much as formerly & he has been again more affected with the vomiting. Cont. Mist. u. a. addend. sing. unciis. Tinct. Theb. gr XXX. April 2. Has been frequently affected with vomiting notwithstanding the use of the mixture but his stomach complaints are somewhat relieved although he is still affected with the pain Cont. Med. u. a. 9.
