Betty Davie at 40 complains of excessive pain in her right haunch which extends to the foot of the same side. The left arm is also troubled with a disagreeable pain, which begins at the shoulder, & is carried to the tips of the fingers. These pains, are at times so troublesome, that she is deprived of sleep. Appetite rather irregular. Belly bound. Catamenia have not appeared for these last 7 weeks. She has been subjected to the above complaint, for five or six months. She attributes it to cold & has used no medicines. Rx Calomel. gr XIII Opii gr VI Sapon Hist Jii Syr. Simp. g. s. f. mas [diac] in pil XII cap. pil. i. om m & vesp. 29. Has in general had two stools from the pills. Her pains continue nearly as before Cont. Pil. u. a. & hab. Ungt Terebinth. ℥ ii illin paux. p. app. dol. om. m. & vesp. February. 5 Has had some looseness from the pills & is still much affected with pains particularly in her side. Cont. Pil. Calomel. Interm Ungt Terebinth. & ppt. vesic p. dol. lat. 12. Her pain was nothing alleviated from the application of the blister & it still continues violent Cont. Pil. Calomel. u. a 19. Is free from her pains. Let her be dismissed.
