Robert Cowie at 40 complains of excessive pain in his breast attended with dyspnoea & difficult expectoration. At bed time he is generally most troubled with the pain & he coughs very much The matter which he expectorates has the appearance of thick mucus & on inspection there appears to be a distortion of the bones of the chest. He is always affected with considerable palpitatio cordis, which is particularly severe during the night. Appetite much impaired. Belly regular & he complains of thirst. About ten days ago the present complaint commenced. No cause is assigned. And he has used no medicines excepting a purge & vomit. Ap. vesic. p. dol. pect. & postea f. fontic ope Ungt.
