Ann Haddoway. at 20 is troubled with severe & continual pain in his1 breast situated under the middle of the sternum & from thence at times it passes to the false ribs of the right side. This affection is always attended with a disagreeable cough, but upon coughing the pain of side is not so severely felt as that under the sternum. The sensation of this, when aggravated by coughing, resembles much she says the entrance of many needles. Appetite pretty good. Belly regular. menses have not appeared for these 16 months past. Pulse 60 The first appearance of the pain in her side, was about 16 months ago, at the same time with the menstrual obstruction. The cough began before that, but it has since been much increased in violence She attributes her other complaints to the menstrual obstruction. She has used no medicines Rx. Pulv. Rad Rubiae ℥ p. Glycyr ℥iMcap. coch parv. ter de die. December 4th Cough & dyspnoea much easier. She is less affected with the pain of her breast. But there is no return of the menses. Cont. Pulv. Rubiae. 11 Has taken the powders regularly & is free from any uneasiness But there is no return of the menstrual discharge. Cont Pulv. Rubiae u. a 18. Takes her powders as directed but there is no return of the menstrual discharge. Urine of a yellowish cast. Cont. Pulv. Rubiae u. a. 25 Has been somewhat affected with cough since the last report. There is no return of the menses Belly very loose. Urine natural. Cont. Pulv. Rubiae u. a. & cap. Pil. Theb. grV om. noct. January 1st Cough easier since she began the use of the pills. She has continued the Rubia but there is no appearance of the menstrual discharge. Interm. Pulv. Rub. Cont. Pil. Theb. & accip. Indies ictus elect. VI ad grad. IV ita ut fluidum electricum cursum teneat per regionem uteri. 8. Has used the electricity as directed. But there is no return of the menstrual discharge. And she thinks her cough rather aggravated which she attributes to the exposure to cold. Cont. Pil. Theb. & Electr. u. a 15 Catarrhal symptoms somewhat diminished.
